- Price walls and ceilings per square metre, and put the area as the quantity.
- List preparation (filling, sanding, priming) separately: it's where most of the work is.
- Get colours confirmed in writing before you start.
- Say whether paint and materials are included or charged separately.
What a full tax invoice shows
- The words "Tax Invoice", and your business name, address and VAT number.
- The client's name and address, and their VAT number if they're VAT registered.
- A unique invoice number, the date, and a description and quantity of the work.
- The amount before VAT, the VAT, and the total. Not VAT registered? Call it an "Invoice" and leave VAT off.
