- The words "Tax Invoice" in a prominent place.
- Your business name, address and VAT registration number.
- The client's name and address, and their VAT number if they're VAT registered.
- A unique invoice number and the date it was issued.
- A description of what you supplied, with quantities.
- The value of the work, the VAT charged, and the total including VAT.
- For smaller amounts SARS allows a shorter (abridged) tax invoice. Check SARS's rules or ask your accountant which applies to you.
Not registered for VAT?
- Call it an "Invoice", not a "Tax Invoice". Only VAT vendors may issue tax invoices.
- Don't add VAT. In the Excel template, set the VAT rate to 0%.
Get paid faster
- Send the invoice the day the job is finished, while it's fresh in the client's mind.

What's the difference between a quote and an invoice?
A quote is the price you offer before the work. An invoice is the bill once the work is done. With Arclyft, an accepted quote becomes an invoice in one tap.
Do I need an invoice number?
Yes. Each invoice needs a unique number. It's also the easiest payment reference for your client.
Can I email or WhatsApp this invoice?
Yes. Save it as a PDF and send it. Arclyft does this for you, and sends it on WhatsApp in one tap.
